if you were here, you’d say to me, “hey, brian, did you get your haircut?” and i’d say, “yes i did, nice of you to notice. do you like it?”

then you’d say, of course, “definitely! you look even hotter than before brian. i’d like you to meet my sexy single female friend here, who also likes your new hair. but be nice to her, she just got out of a long relationship and she really needs something to perk her up. like maybe a night with a nice single boy.”

and i’d say: “really…”

so it’s too bad you’re not here, because i’m pretty bored tonight.

i just spent a while fiddling with templates and whatnot to get rid of the long list of archive dates and put them on a separate page. so that’s different. i guess i didn’t need to tell you that though.

i’m just looking to kill some time. a little bored.

time to shut up.

i’ve had a big day today. i didn’t wake up until almost noon, then i played tony hawk for a couple hours. then the meal was ready, and i ate myself stupid. oh my god, it was good. lip smacking.

i played more video games, then went to see monsters inc. with my little brother (18) and sister (15). what a genuinely funny and cute movie. it was a feel good hit, i guess. and a rollercoaster of fun and excitement. and one of the year’s best. and other roger ebert pull quotes. but i really did like it. pixar is just cranking out the good stuff, although i have to say i’ll always like a bug’s life best out of the ones they’ve made so far. now that’s a great cartoon.

then i played more tony hawk. yeah, i know. but it takes practice to rack up 200 thousand points in under two minutes.

see, this is what happens when i’m at home. nothing good to say, but a nice full belly. hope yours is too.

nine and a half hours of travel time later, i arrived safely in my parents’ home. it was a long, but not altogether bad day, really. a nice cute girl from my religion class was on my shuttle to the airport, and on my connecting flight to denver, so i spent the two hours between arriving at the airport and getting on the plane (new security protocol — lame) talking to her. she’s nice. i saw her when i got off the plane in denver, and she gave me a hug when i wished her happy thanksgiving before we parted ways to go to our separate gates. i’m a smooth operator, apparently.

now i’m here in houston (sucks), kickin’ it in central time once again. it’s good to see my family though even if i’m not a big texas fan. but now i have to start starving myself to save up for the feast tomorrow — dig it. that, and play some tony hawk 3. should be a pretty good weekend.

i’ll report back with my net weight gain tomorrow afternoon, maybe. happy thanksgiving, folks.

well. this morning my paper is done (8 pages), i’m pretty much packed to go, and it’s nearing time for class. sit for an hour, hand in my stuff, and come back just in time to catch the shuttle guy, and i’m gone. i get to spend the next eight hours after that in airports or on planes. boy oh boy.

so forgive me for saying nothing much today, since i’ll be spending most of it “in transit”. i’ll probably blog from home some but for today, i’m afraid this is goodbye.

all i have to do is write six pages on the differing opinions of laozi, mozi, and chu hsi (three chinese religious/philosophical figures: a daoist, a utilitarian and a confucian), go to class tomorrow morning to turn it in, and i’m outta here. plan to denver to connect to houston to go home and eat myself to death. mmm. the paper should be a piece of cake, too, if i can tear myself away from the playstation long enough to focus and get this taken care of. but hey, it’s only six, right?…

i’ve got to remember to reserve myself a shuttle to the airport. i’ll do that right now in fact. more later.

some things i decided i like tonight:

1-the lawrence arms song, “nebraska”.

2-having someone to talk to, no matter where they are.

3-the fact that i get to visit illinois for a week over new years.

something i’ve never liked, in fact that’s sort of a pet peeve of mine:

–as a skateboarder, or even biker when i used to have a bike, i can’t stand when perfectly able people on foot make a point to only cross streets from the inclined handicapped-accessible part of street corner crossings. you have feet that work. you can step up or down the curb. i have a skateboard that i don’t know how to make jump into the air, i need that incline more than you do, and you’re in my way. it’s not something i’ve very adamant about, it just doesn’t make sense to me. they put inclines there so that people unable to step up or down curbs can have access, and then everybody starts using it. wouldn’t you rather step up or down the curb and relish the fact that you’re so capable?

i’m sitting here in my computer class trying to pay attention, but all i can think about is driving around liberty city stealing cars and creating other carnage. i’m a pretty big loser, this week. but seriously, that game is soooooo good…

okay, here’s my real christmas wish, with some background first. i went to high school with a bunch of wonderful and fun and intelligent people in aurora, illinois. since graduation of course all of my friends scattered to various universities all over the country (places like boston, new york, philadelphia, baltimore, and champaign). in addition, this semester my best friend in college (maybe) is in australia. next semester, another best friend is going to florence, italy, and one, possibly two are going to edinburgh, scotland. i also just found out that i really like talking to someone who lives in toronto.

my complaint: why can’t the coolest people i know in the world all be in one place at any one time? i’d be in blissful happy moods all the time if i could spend more of my life with these people. but circumstances are against me.

my solution: rocket car. i’m not kidding. i want more than anything, if i think about it, to just be able to see my friends whenever i want, wherever they are. if i had a rocket car capable of insanely high speed travel, i could live a contented, happy existence, visiting people no matter where they are in the world. i could just take an afternoon jaunt to boston and see some friends, drop in at university of illinois for dinner with some others, maybe stop by houston to say hi to mom and dad, and be back before sunday morning in time to do homework. it’d be perfect, me in my rocket car, whizzing through the skies with a big grin on my face because i don’t have to miss anyone anymore.

so, if anyone wants to make my lifetime, you know what to do for christmas. leave a rocketcar with a bow on it in my driveway christmas morning and i’ll love you forever.

i don’t even read amplified, so i can’t technically be “anti” anything. but i do read the hero, so it seems natural to want to be a part of their new club. so here i am, and there they are at the right.

i spent most of today playing grand theft auto 3. you know how i said tony hawk 3 is probably the most fun game ever? well, it’s tied with grand theft auto, only with the added bonus that the latter is very violent and involves going on crime sprees in order to do well. oh man, i’ve been a recluse today… i think i spent about five hours on the couch straight. uh oh, i’m becoming a troll.

but it’s just so fun!

at least now a friend of mine came over and we’re gonna watch a movie and get dinner, or something. must stop being video game zombie and start trying to rejoin society. plus, i’m getting really hungry.
